what we long to be known for

OUR VISION for the future

Our vision is to be a growing church, full of people who are passionately committed to reaching others with the Good News of Jesus.

Our core Values

At RCC we have six core values that we believe best define who God is calling us to be and how he wants us to live.

We Value People

People matter. Each person on this planet has great value and worth because we believe they are made by God and in his image. Through our words and actions we want to show everyone we meet that they matter to Jesus and he loves them.

We want to create a culture in RCC that lives this value out to the fullest.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful" (Psalm 139)

We Value Growth

We want to see Jesus bring people into relationship with him. We want to help and support each person to grow into and become all that God intended. We can do this through building strong relationships with each other, and gathering together in smaller groups midweek, as well as for social events.

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen".

(2Peter 3v18)

We Value Service

We are a church that is intentionally outward focused. We are not a religious club but a community who are seeking to serve others in the name of Jesus. We want to bless our local community and serve in ways that will make the community better.

Whether this is through community events, litter picking or supporting families and people who might be on their own. We want to show others what difference our faith makes practically and how Jesus cares and loves all people wherever they may be in life.

"Christian brothers and sisters, you were chosen to be free.

Live this free life by loving and helping others". ((Galatians 5v13)

We Value Stories

Many at RCC have personal stories of what God has done for them and the difference it makes knowing Jesus as Saviour and friend. Our stories are all shaped by our life experiences and we value the way each of our stories are different.

All of us at RCC have known joy and pain, loss and love in some way. However we have found that knowing Jesus and his love through all of life's ups and downs can truly change a life.

Our desire is to share what Jesus has done for us relevantly, graciously and lovingly with others.

"Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it".

(1Peter 3v15)

We Value the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the gift that Jesus promised to his followers before his return to his Father in Heaven. The Holy Spirit comes and lives within every believer when they place their faith and trust in Jesus. It is the Holy Spirit that changes us and renews our minds and hearts so that we reflect and live out our lives that reveal Jesus to others.

At RCC we will leave space in our gatherings for quiet and reflection, allowing time for the Holy Spirit to work in people's lives and hearts.

"And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us". (Romans 5v5)

We Value Prayer

Prayer is vital to the health and growth of God's people and his church. It is though prayer that God moves in people's lives and  circumstances. God also calls us to pray for individuals, communities, our nation and the wider world.

At RCC we want to teach, support and help each person discover what it means to pray and to see God at work in their lives. We are on a journey together and we are all learning! We are not perfect prayers but we believe it makes a difference, God hears us, and can change situations and lives.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". (Philippians 4v6)
