Our Activities

Family Fun@ 4

These free events take place on the second Sunday of every month from 4pm to 5.30pm at Dumbarton Rd Scout Hall. Activities vary but have included watching a film, all age quiz, sports day and board games. One thing that remains the same at each session is we always serve a light meal at 5pm, sandwiches or hotdogs.  Aimed at family groups, we ask that children are accompanied by an adult at all times.

Big Family Fun

About 3 times a year we have a bigger event aimed at all ages which runs for slightly longer. Christmas, Easter and Summer Big Fun events run from 2pm to 5pm and usually take the format of a traditional fair or fete with games, crafts, café and a BBQ. The events are free to enter and held at Dumbarton Rd Scout Hall, a small charge is made for games and this money is used to support the work of the Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre.

Community Picnics

As a church family we love to eat together and have fun! During the summer months we can be found congregating on the Dumbarton Rd Recreation Ground after the Sunday morning church service to have a picnic. The children can play safely on the play area and we even have a game of cricket or rounders together. We love it when people join us so just bring your picnic rug and picnic. You will be made very welcome.

Caring for our community

We love Rushmere and we want to help care for this community in whatever ways we can. We do litter picks to support the amazing work that the council already does and are happy to help with small projects for individuals, families or organisations that are based in the Rushmere area. Do contact us if you spot something that you think we could help with.

Christmas events

Alongside our annual evening Christmas Carol Service, which takes place the Sunday before Christmas, we also aim to bless our community in some way at this special time. Last year we gifted homemade biscuits to people using or working in the shops in Selkirk Rd. We sang traditional Christmas Carols too, but we think people liked the biscuits most!
