community

We believe that Jesus cares and loves people. When we read the Bible, Jesus spent most of his time outside the religious buildings and places of worship. We want that to be true of us as his followers, and for people to come into contact with Jesus and his love through us. All our community based events have been put together with that in mind.

friends round friday (WEEKLY)

In partnership with local churches and the Rushmere Good Neighbour Scheme, Friends Round Friday is a community café located at Dumbarton Road Scout Hall. Free of charge and open to all, it provides a safe and welcoming space for all ages to gather and enjoy free refreshments and a chat. There are games on offer, as well as a space for small children with toys and activities. On the second Friday of every month a children's clothes swap will be running in the Hall.

LITTER PICKS(Once a month)

Our community litter picks take place the first Saturday of every month in Rushmere. We meet outside our Pastor, James' house on Selkirk Road from 10am and seek to bless the community by litter picking. All ages welcome, equipment provided and we finish at 11am.

Family Fun@ 4(once a month)

These free events take place on the second Sunday of every month from 4pm to 5.30pm at Dumbarton Rd Scout Hall. Activities vary but have included watching a film, all age quiz, sports day and board games.

One thing that remains the same at each session is we always serve a light meal at 5pm. These events are suitable for family groups to attend together.

community days (yearly)

Throughout the year we run big community events suitable for all ages. This is in partnership with local community groups, local council and other churches and charities.
